A collaboration with The Chorus of Dissent, Winged Voices explores the subject of flight and spiritual ascent through poetry and music.

This prestigious and longstanding biennial competition takes place as part of the York Early Music Festival 2026. ​ Recognised as a major international platform for emerging talent in the world of early music, the competition attracts musicians from all over the globe, offering an important boost to young professional careers with opportunities for performance, recording and broadcasting, and international exposure.

Winged Voices explores the subject of flight and spiritual ascent through poetry and music. The concert also includes a very rare performance of the Penpont Antiphon, the earliest-known Welsh manuscript.
